What & where are we?

Rhodes Raceway is a mud pit that started in 2020 when Covid hit Michigan. It is located in beautiful Rhodes, Michigan in Gladwin County just off I-75/US-23 to East Pinconning Road, then to West Cody Estey to Rhodes Road.

Bret Witte, the owner who created

the raceway with help from family

and friends, used his unused

vacation money to construct

the raceway. The following

year, a drag race track was

constructed and more fun began.

We host mud bogs and sand drag events for folks to enjoy!

What we do?

MUD BOGS

SAND DRAGS

ENTERTAINMENT for All Ages

Also known as mud racing or mudding and is a form of an off-road sport in which the goal is to drive a vehicle through a pit of mud and the winners are determined by the distance/time traveled through the pit.

Drivers participate in it to have a blast. From putting together their perfect mud bog vehicle to taking part in the mud races. Racing events are for anyone to attend and have lots of fun.

A form of racing on a dirt track, of a set length, where winners are determined by the fastest time.

(600 ft shut down - no timing system yet)

The system was designed to make 3 different types of racing:

1) Trophy Classes were made with the intention of attracting more people who have never raced

before, but have always wanted to try it without having to race a “fast truck".

2) Payout Classes were designed for the people who have done some racing and have a "more

than stock" truck. But they aren't as fast as the open class trucks.

3) Open Classes were designed for the all-out baddest trucks to run in. Anyone who has built an

open class truck wants to run another open class truck. Beating a "fast" truck is fun, but beating

someone with an open class vehicle is better.

Tech Registration

  • Your truck must be tech’ed in by our tech officials. Your tech sheet must be signed by our tech officials - then bring your tech sheet to registration
  • Starting position will be determined by a lottery system
  • In the event of multi entries, the driver will draw for numbers in each class. Only 1 entry per driver per class. No switching of numbers after it has been drawn
  • Only one run per entry
  • All drivers that want to bump up a class must do so before that class starts. It will be a $30.00 fee for late entry
  • Any drivers that wish to drop out of a class must do so before that class runs to receive refund. Minimum of 2 vehicles per class
  • Any speeding or burnouts on the grounds will result in disqualification. 5 M.P.H. speed limit on the grounds
  • Every driver must attend the DRIVERS MEETING. Any questions will be answered; any issues will be resolved at this time
  • No modifications will be made to the pit or starting line during a class
